Profile

Today the hotel offers its guests every conceivable luxury that a top-class four-star hotel can offer. The architects specifically wanted the ornamental embellishments from earlier centuries to be removed during the conversion so that the overall effect is calmer, more streamlined and self-assured. They wanted hotel guests to be able to enjoy peace and quiet and an elegant atmosphere in the midst of the metropolitan hubbub.

All rooms were tastefully refurbished with exquisite interior design and fitted out with the best equipment. Manageress Claudia Plisnier says, "On the one hand we had to comply with extremely tight building regulations and on the other, we wanted to develop a concept that would best meet the requirements of our clientele. We used only the best materials and ecological building materials. The result has been worth it!"

Over the rooftops of the city
The attic area hitherto unused by hotel guests has also been converted. Now there are three double room deluxe suites, two junior suites and the large luxury suite. The latter even has its own roof terrace which is a more than 34 square metres large from where guests can really take in Vienna. It reveals a breathtaking view of the cathedral and the rooftops of the inner city.

Hotel guests are pampered not only by the luxury of their rooms but also by the hotel food. In its absolute "pamper-you" approach, the treats start with the copious breakfast buffet including wonderfully healthy rolls and bread, freshly pressed fruit juices, "Sekt" sparkling wine, wake-you-up espresso coffee, salmon - and all that at no extra charge! There is, of course, also a "healthy" menu for the sport- and fitness-minded. Incidentally, the hotel restaurant also offers a "cuisine on request" service - particularly for events where dishes need to be freshly prepared. This service is always received with enthusiasm!

The stylish hotel bar is called >ara_gall< and a favourite meeting place for cultivated communication not only among hotel guests. The young team behind the bar will conjure up delicious drinks and cocktails for every taste and occasion. Shaken or stirred, however you want it.

Conference rooms
Our conference rooms "Matteo" and "Inofficium" are popular with companies and organisations for seminars, conferences and training courses. It goes without saying that they are fitted out with the latest-generation technical equipment: brand names such as Pioneer, Bose and HP and an ultra-fast Internet connection allow each conference to be a real interactive experience.

Wellness
The "Wellness Oasis" is small but beautiful and meticulously equipped. In addition to a sauna with light therapy, a highly trained therapeutic masseur is available for special treatments (acupuncture massage, connective tissue massage, foot reflex zone massage, classic curative massage, lymph drainage and sport massage).

History & Facts
The Hotel am Stephansplatz has been in the hands of the same family since 1956. The Elsässer family from Vorarlberg is keen that its hotel should unite first-rate hospitality with art and design. The modernised hotel was officially re-opened on 22 April 2006. It is a four-star hotel with five-star character in one of Austria's most exclusive locations: Stephansplatz 9.
