St.Stephan's Cathedral-Stephansdom: this gothic church is one of Vienna's landmarks. Romanesque in origin, its construction began in the 12th century. Later it was completely reconstructed in gothic style. The baroque altarpieces were added in the 18-th century. The Cathedral is dedicated to St. Stephan, the first martyr of Christendom. |
 Hofburg-Imperial Palace: the Imperial Palace was once the administrative heart of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy besides housing the downtown imperial apartments and imperial treasure collection. Today it houses the presidential offices.
Karlskirche: Church of St. Charles Borromaeus by Fischer von Erlach: for lovers of the baroque art this church was built 1716-37.
Museum Quarter: Leopold museum, MUMOK, Kunsthalle are the modern complement to the Museums of Natural and Art History across the road.
Moreover we are few minutes from Danube canal embankment, which is part of Vienna´s green recreation area, including a bicycle route to other recreation resorts. |
