When in Vienna, it doesn't get more traditional than a stay at the 300 year old luxurious Hotel Wandl! Stepping into this hotel is like stepping into a family's history: it has been under the same ownership for generations. Situated in the heart of Vienna, Hotel Wandl dates back to the 18th century. This house was built by the court chamber counselor and laxenburg palace governor, Jakob Metz.

At the time the house was called "To the Four Seasons". In 1851, Joseph Georg Daum bought the house and converted it into a hotel. Thereafter, he installed luxurious Parisian hotel fittings that were 'in style' at the time. After the "Grand Opening", curious Viennese were allowed to wander through and admire the hotel for free. In the first five days, 4.7 million people visited the building! In 1854, Johann Wandl, whom the hotel is named after, bought the 'To the Four Seasons' hotel.

Mr Wandl had installed an elevator, as well as en suite bathrooms: this extra luxury made the hotel the most elegant one during that time! Hotel Wandl is proud of its historical heritage and endears to keep against all fashions and short lived trends. The hotel is exquisitely maintained and is completely newly renovated every 7 years. Guests over the last 300 years have enjoyed the harmonious balance of traditional Viennese hospitality whilst staying in modern comfort.
