I was a little confused about the standard practice of taking a credit-card swip for the full amount of the stay, even though details were required to secure the reservation & when checking out my card was swiped again for the same amount, but the origninal swipe returned.

Hotel was in older condition that I expected and the room was noisier than I would have liked (keeping the windows open to cool I was woken several times by kitchen staff and rubbish removal from neighbouring properties.
