We arrived at approx 6.30 am and were directly shown to our apartment although check in was at 12 noon. That was very helpful and much appreciated after our long 8 hr overnight journey.

1. Extremely central. You turn right and you are 2 mins from good restaurants. You turn left and within 3 mins you are at the Kartnerstraasse! Wow..
2. It is very minor but noone spoke english at the desk so communication was a VERY SMALL PROBLEM but we managed to get ourselves understood in everything that was important.

We were there for 7 nights and found it Excellent. Highly recommend. The location was perfect, the price for our 90 sq mtr apartment was good, tip-top cleanliness, wonderful helpful staff, plentiful breakfast buffet spread - as we were part of the apartment and not Hotel we paid Euro 5 whenever we wanted to partake! Architecture of the building was awesome and we walked to every location except Schonbrunn! from where we were staying. I cannot recommend it enough... in fact my mother-in-law and her friends are staying in the Hotel for 3 nights as our 1st recommendation!

WE HAD A FOUR BEDED ROOM BUT WITH 2 BEDS. WHAT I MEAN IS THAT THE OTHER TWO HAD A SOFA THAT WAS BECOMING A BED WHICH WAS AWFUL. THE OTHER DAY THEY CHANGED IT WITH TWO 'LOOK ALIKE BEDS' LESS AWFUL. ANYWAY IT WOULD BE BETTER TO HAVE 4 REGULAR BEDS.

We were made very welcome, the room was delightful had wonderful clean linen and was very conveniently located. the pine furniture, the fully tled bathroom made it very authentically austrian. We had2 windows onto the busy colourful street.

This charming old hotel is so well sited in the 'Old Town' Vienna. It was our last night together after 3 wonderful weeks touring, and a lovely place to end our wonwderful european holiday.

Late checkout of luggage was made very easy. All staff were very helpful.

Quaint little hotel, hidden on a lovely cobblestone street, close to the main activity of Vienna, yet far enough off to be quiet and relaxing. Definately would stay there again.

Getting the luggage up the stairs to the elevator and having to take the elevator 3 times was a hassle but not a big problem

Had problems coming in at night. Hall outside Pension was dark - hard to unlock door. Once inside, also dark.
Location was absolutely great.

Only one person of the staff spoke English (saw her twice at breakfast). All the others were fluent in German ... and Russian.

Same remark as previously. Staff only spoke German and Russian. Explaining that we needed a splitted invoice (part professional, part private) was not easy, regarding the quality of our German (we only speak French, Dutch, English and Spanish, sorry)

The location of the hotel is fabulous: 3 minutes walk from the Stephansdom, and 1 minute from the Parkring. A very famous little café (Kleines Cafe), mentioned in several guides, is situated just in front of the entrance. Very quite surroundings, no city noises at all...

Splendid entrance door (photographed by Corean tourists!)with huge statues upon it. Little, slow reacting lift to the 2nd floor. Small hotel, with a little breakfast area. Buffet could be a little bit more original. Rooms are spacious, very quite and nice. No airco, but a very welcome ventilator available. TV with a majority of german-speaking channels. Free Internet access, and mini-bar. Fabulous situation (3 min walking from Stephansdom + subway + shopping area, and 1 min from Parkring). Lots of nice bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. We'd definitely recommand Hotel Lumes...

In general we were very happy with our room. The only item we felt was missing was a mirror!

I'm not sure if it is on the website - havn't checked since but I was of the opinion that the whole building was the Hotel - not expecting other occupants in the building

I would recommend it highly - central, convenient to public transport, shopping, restaurants etc.

The room was very noisy as it faced onto the
central courtyard. It was a lot more basic
than the pictures on the internet. But it
was clean.

proximity to the lovely St Stephens
cathedral.

Asked for additional towel - not provided every day. Back up roll of toilet paper not always available. Room noisy - close to breakfast room. Should have been less expensive because of this. Convenience service bar items were 4 times more than at retail!. That is totally UNACCEPTABLE!! Room was ENTIRELY TOO EXPENSIVE! Should have been 50 EURO per night for room and breakfast. They ordered a taxi that was 10 EURO more than I paid, they were patronizing friends!

They had to make special arrangemants sine they did not have an alarm clock in the room and 24-hour wake-up services. For 72 Euro per night, this should be provided! Room entirely too expensive! I lived in Vienna for 4 years and love to visit; however, since the EU formation, it is entirely out of whack - NO VALUE FOR THE EURO!!!!
I'll spend my HARD-EARNED DOLLARS elsewhere!
