By plane:
The new city airport train, CAT, will take you to the city centre, station Wien-Mitte in about 16 minutes. Departures every 30 minutes. Then, take the metro line U4 direction Heiligenstadt to station Schottenring. Change to U2 direction Karlsplatz to Schottentor, where there is Hotel de France, at number 3.
The Schnellbahn S7 (train) will take you to Wien Mitte/Landstraße. There you have to take underground U4 direction Heiligenstadt to station Schottenring; change to U2 direction Karlsplatz to Schottentor and follow the signs University. If you prefer, we can arrange a pick service from the airport.
By train:
From west railway station: (Westbahnhof), take underground U3 direction Simmering, change at Volkstheater into underground U2 direction Schottenring and get off at Schottentor and follow the signs "University".
From south railway station: (Südbahnhof), take tram D direction Nussdorf to Schottenring, opposite the Hotel de France.
By car:
Coming from Germany via Salzburg: take highway A1 direction Zentrum, go straight on along Hietzinger Kai, Schönbrunner Schloßstrasse, Rechte Wienzeile. At Karlsplatz keep left direction Oper into Kärntner Straße. In front of State Opera, turn left at the traffic light into Kärntner Ring. Straight away follow the Ring until Dr. Karl-Lueger-Ring, there turn left into Schottengasse and immediately turn right into Maria-Theresien Strasse. At the first opportunity turn right again into Hessgasse and right again into the side street in front of the Hotel de France.
Coming from airport, Bratislava, Budapest: A4, exit airport, direction Zentrum. Straight away along Schüttelstrasse, Donaukanal until Untere Donaustraße. Turn to the left and cross Aspernbrücke, continue straight into Stubenring and straight away follow the Ring until Dr. Karl-Lueger-Ring. There turn left into Schottengasse and immediately turn right into Maria-Theresien Strasse. Then as above.
Coming from Prague, Brno: take the national highway B7 direction Zentrum. Cross the Nordbrücke and continue straight on Nussdorfer Lände, Heiligenstädter Lände until Rossauer Lände. Turn to the right into Hörlstrasse, left into Schlickgasse and next possibility turn right again into Kolingasse and left into Wasagasse which leads into Hessgasse. Turn left again into the side street in front of the Hotel de France. |
