| Vienna is the world's musical capital and the Imperial city. It is also one of the world's top conference destinations. No other city in the world has been home to so many famous composers. And hardly any other city offers such an extensive and varied range of music as Vienna. Add to this the memorials for Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Johann Strauss and Arnold Schoenberg. In 2006, Vienna is celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozartīs birth. With the imperial Hofburg Palace and magnificent Schoenbrunn and Belvedere Palaces, the Imperial Spanish Riding School and the Treasure Chamber, the glorious buildings along Ringstrasse - the "showcase of the monarchy" - and the imperial art collections, Vienna offers unique imperial splendour. The city on the Danube also has much to offer to those who wish to relax in the midst of nature: the Hauptallee avenue runs through the green Prater (Giant Ferris Wheel) park for 5 km. Vienna enjoys an outstanding reputation as a conference city, which is confirmed by international statistics year after year. |
