We arrived on a Sunday afternoon when usually people are off. We found our room key taped on the pension door in an envelop with our names. Once we got inside the room, we also found four bottles of drinking water. Very nice on a hot day!

The room is very nice decorated and clean. There is even an elevator, but there are a few steps of stairs before you can get to the elevator. For most people, this isn't a problem, but be warned it is not for somebody who is wheelchair bound.

We checked out early in the morning to catch a train to Czech Republic, so early that we can't have the wonderful breakfast at Pension Carantania that morning. The lady at Pension Carantania reduced the total amount by 15 euros because the fact we will miss the breakfast, a very nice gesture.

A very friendly and helpful pension owner that was totally unexpected given Vienna is such a major city.

One of the best pensions that we stayed in Europe. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and clean Pension with large rooms, good bathrooms. Good location within walking distance to the city centre. Friendly staff and good location for transport.

I did not know about the directions.
I had to wait for about an hour before the pension owner returned.

It's a little noisy - on a streetcar route.

Good location - convenient for all modes of transportation.
A little spartan.
Nice breakfast.

I did have to telephone when I arrived at the door as no one answered the bell, but my flight was delayed one day and I was not able to leave an exact time of arrival. As soon as I telephoned, the owner's husband greeted me and showed me my room within 10 minutes.

I selected a room above a busy street, which I did not mind the hustle and bustle and noise from the street. The bathroom was clean, the room was clean and, most of all, non-smoking. It was a pleasure.

Seems to be in a safe neighborhood, close to U-bahn and other surface transportation.

This was a delightful place. I could be very private and come and go as I please without fuss.

There was no one there when we arrived and we were let in by another guest.We had to wait or the owner to come back.

The room was extremely noisy and the beds very uncomfortable.The towels were as thin as tissue paper.

I would not recommend this as a place to stay in Vienna
